NEW RELEASE: The Anomaly (Card based tabletop rpg / 3-6 players)

Deep in the wilds, something has woken up. Or turned on. Or arrived.

Deep in the wilds, something has woken up. Or turned on. Or arrived.

The government has discovered an anomaly and they are sending you, a crack team of scientists, explorers, and soldiers, to investigate and ideally bring it back. They know every new discovery is a new chance for power.

You only know there’s a chance you might never come back.

The Anomaly is my newest tabletop game - a GMless rpg where you and your friends play the team investigating an anomaly in the heart of a wilderness. You discover your setting, yourselves and your relationships with each other, and the anomaly itself through drawing cards and answering corresponding questions (like What tool or weapon did the government forbid you from bringing? Why did you bring it anyway? and Someone in the group gets into a sticky situation. At what cost do you help them?) All you need to play are the instructions, a deck of cards, and some index cards or pieces of paper.

This game is heavily inspired by my love of stories like Annihilation (book and movie) and Stalker, and explores forced connection in isolation, a theme featured in my game Together / Alone as well. I wrote and designed the game and the layout, and I’m very proud of it!

The Anomaly is $5 but you CAN pay more to support me, wink wink. If you are unable to budget $5 I offer free community copies on an honor system (just scroll down the game page). Community copies are provided on all my games for people undergoing financial hardship and are offered with no judgement or questions asked.

Spread the word

If you aren’t interested in purchasing the game but would like to support my endeavors, please share this newsletter or the game page widely!

If you do play the game, please let me know how it goes on Twitter or leave a review and comment for the game on itch.io.
